Following Anita Borg: January 16/17, 2015; The Anita Borg celebration is a half-day workshop aiming to increase the support and promotion of women in computer science; participants (especially women, but not only) from academia and industry will share their experiences, resulting in collaborative proposals, networking and mentoring for junior women and increased visibility for the contributions of women in computing. The event is included in an international series dedicated to Anita Borg – the woman who inspired, motivated and moved women to embrace technology instead of fearing or ignoring it.

Internships 2015: March, 2015; In March, the Faculty of Computer Science, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University launches the internships for IT students. The organization of these internships will be done together with the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, as part of the Program Stagii pe Bune.

SEEMOUS - The South Eastern European Mathematical Olympiad for University Students 2015: March 3-8, 2015, Ohrid, Republic of Macedonia; The students in the Faculty of Computer Science participate annually in this competition, with good results. This year the plan is the same: to participate with a team of at least 3 students and one professor acting as team-leader and jury member.

FII Practic: March 1st – May 2015; The 4th edition of FII-Practic, jointly organised by ASII (Asociatia Studenților Informaticieni din Iași) in collaboration with FCS (FII – Faculty of Computer Science of Iași), offers students and high school pupils the possibility to participate in 6 different trainings in hot areas like Graphic Design, Web – Front-end / Back-end Development, Android Development, iOS Development, Game Development, Entrepreneurial Management, Business Analysis or AngularJS.

The Caravan FII Admis: April 2015; High school pupils from the region of Moldova will learn what is a career in IT and how can it be started in Iasi with the Faculty of Computer Science. Groups of FII members and IT companies representatives will travel to various high-schools in Moldavian counties in order to meet with pupils live, present to them and discuss with them why, how, when they can start their IT career in Iasi.

ONIS - National Informatics Olympiad for Students: May 2015; The 2nd edition of this student contest will be organized in Iasi. Around 20 teams of 3 students will come in Iasi to compete live in a ACM ICPC style contest.

EVOLVE conference & ECODAM SummerSchool: June 18-24, 2015; The 5th edition of EVOLVE International conference aims to build a bridge between probability, statistics, set oriented numerics and evolutionary computing, as to identify new common and challenging research aspects.

ECODAM summer school is an international event dedicated to doctoral students in Computer Science or related fields, and for Master students with research perspectives. Each year, starting 2006, distinguished professors from three continents come for one week in Iasi to give lectures and conduct workshops. EUROLAN Summer School: July 13th - 25th, 2015; Organized bienally, the Eurolan summer school grew to become the 2nd summer school in Europe dedicated to hot topics in the domain of Human Language Technologies. The EUROLAN 2015 Summer School will offer two weeks of intensive study & lectures in the emerging area of Linguistic Linked Open Data (LLOD).

The 12th edition of the summer school is jointly organized by the Faculty of Computer Science (UAIC-FII), the Romanian Academy, Vassar College (USA) and, “Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu (ULBS) – the host of this event.

ConsILR: September 24th-26th, 2015; The International Conference on Linguistic Resources and Tools for Processing the Romanian Language, jointly organised by the Faculty of Computer Science (UAIC-FII), and the Romanian Academy through the Institute for Artificial Intelligence "Mihai Drăgănescu" (AR-ICIA), Bucharest along with the Institute of Computer Science Iasi (AR-IIT), is targeted to all researches, as well as students at all levels, interested about the domain of Language Technologies with a special accent on the Romanian language. The domain is vital in solving the problem of the still existing online language barriers and it is addressed in Horizon 2020 (ITC 17) and Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programs.
